Uncle it is hard for us to deal with your passing... But if we could see the joy and beauty of where you are now we would understand better why God called you home... You are missed and we will meet again One Sweet Day

We love you our Uncle and will always miss you. We miss your Carefree Spirit and your Easiness. No problem, life. A true Jamaican! Take it easy.

Daddy! Daddy! Daddy! I didn’t expect you to leave us so soon. You were doing great, enjoying your independence and life. I thought you would be around to enjoy my miracle, Ane-Maura, for years to come. Nevertheless, I give the Almighty thanks that you got almost 3 years of memorable moments with her (mommy wasn’t here for this miracle as she went up into heaven and gave the Almighty a final petition for her😊)… she was blessed to get a part of the dad we love and celebrated…the dad that set a great spiritual foundation in our lives…a dad that led his household as the Bible instructed (we are blessed with awesome parents 🙏🏾🙌🏾😊)…a dad that loved in his way (You have never uttered the words ‘I love you’ but you didn’t lack in demonstrating in your way). We knew you loved us so very much and all you did in life was for us, no matter what. You were a man who loved, cared and gave selflessly for others. You placed others needs above yours (giving out of what you didn’t have-giving even when on empty). I’m most certainly going to miss the relationship we shared, your wits, your sarcasm, your ‘I mean-good’ smart-mouth, your humor, your wisdom, your special facial expressions/reactions for certain conversations - I’m missing youuuuuuuuu daddy. I’m missing youuuuuu!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Relationship with you was not like regular normal but certainly special. You loved your siblings, children and grandchildren so much. You had a heart that chose well who to let in…you were that type of person to not have negativities take residence in your heart space - your wits didn’t allow for that. Brutal honesty was your thing - you didn’t hold back on that at all (love it or leave it😂). You found comfort and solice in living a humble and simple life - peace made you happy. Whatever brought you comfort and peace, that’s what you entertained in your mental, emotional and physical space. You enjoyed being one with nature (farming and fishing brought your gratification). You enjoyed every sports. I can remember your Jamaican years when mommy and I would prepare your lunch carrier for you to go watch cricket match whenever it came to Sabina Park ( those opportunities were not missing you). Whether it be over the radio or television, whichever sports season it was, you were checked in. Keeping abreast of the news was also you - up to date with local and world news. You could have been a lawyer or legal advisor because you learnt so much from watching almost every COURT program and law broadcast/shows - those are the reality tv you enjoyed. You loved music, especially real country western and hymns. Your record collection was extensive. Your collections saw artistes such as Jim Reeves, Charley Pride, Windy Bagwell & the songwriters, Crystal Gayle, Skeeter Davis, Abba, Tammy Wynette. Loretta Lyn, The Happy Goodmans, Bill Gaither and so much more. I share similar taste because of your influence. I can remember the A-track tapes playing in your old Valiant vehicle - music I have grown to appreciate. I am truly blessed to have enjoyed so many moments with you…and Ane-Maura did too. Nothing ever bothered you. You were so cool, calm and easy going. I’m trying to remember ever seeing you get mad and that memory is just not there, cause it has never happened. You were not the beater, mommy was 😂😂 - mommy beat for past, present and future 😂😂😂. I can remember your favorite words when you made that first with your right hand and shook it at us saying ‘look man, if I lick you, you tooosh’ and believe you me, that had an impact more than mommy’s actual beating - because there was that intense, no nonsense stare behind that lifted fist. I could have never asked to be born to any other parents…. Thank You Almighty for Francis and Ilene Barrett. Job well done daddy. Great foundation was set in training to your children in the way they should grow. It’s my honor to continue that legacy in my daughter’s, nieces and nephews and any other children I come in contact with (as an educator). 🎶Go rest high on the mountain daddy…son, your work on earth is done…go to heaven shouting, love for the Father and the Son. 🎶 Love you to eternity and beyond Daddy ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
