Aunty Joan's home was the first place I ever went for summer holidays as a child. I have loved her since as long as I can remember. That VW bug would drive up in the yard to great excitement. As adults we would share messages and voice notes and talk on the phone at all hours. Her love for her Lord Jesus was second to no other! Her love of family was deep and true and I valued every moment we shared. Thank you aunty Joan. Walking with the Lord since the age of 12, and now you're home. I miss you and I love you. Sleep well, till we meet again.

Once upon a time there lived a little girl and her family in the cool cool hills of Munro, and when ever family time came around "ROOM FULL HALL FULL" according to her daddy. It was always a some thing to look forward to and especially to have aunty Joan in the mix, a pleasant Women of God, an infectious smile that has been embedded in your for life, and now a beautiful beautiful Rose 🌹 🌹 has now been planted in garden of our loving savior to brighten and beautify she has left a legacy of what family is all about and nothing else matter just family. Dearly missed Aunty Joan Love you always Nathan Gabriel Dadria

My Aunty dear dear dear Joan❤️ Her generosity knew no bounds. Aunty Joan had a heart full of compassion and a willingness to help always. I remember when I was younger and all my friends had roller skates I told my Aunty I wanted a pair and of course her niece had to get the roller skates she wanted. I’m so happy I got to tell you how much you meant to me. She touched countless lives with her acts of kindness, extending a helping hand to anyone in need. Her selflessness was a shining example. She was the glue that kept the family together. She knew everybody’s children and grandchildren and would always keep us posted on how everybody was doing. We loved talking about where our family was from and even trying to put the family tree together. We would get so excited when we found another Smalling and we tried to figure out where they were from and exactly how we were related. Beyond her vibrant spirit, Aunty Joan was an extraordinary listener, advisor and confidant. Her wisdom and gentle guidance provided comfort during times of uncertainty, and her unconditional love served as a source of solace during my many dark moments. She always encouraged me in the way of the Lord and would always reminded me to never forget God’s way. Aunty Joan had a way of making everybody feel loved and feel supported and seen. She was so proud of her family. Even though we are grieving I’m so happy that I know you are in the arms of your saviour, what better place to be? Your smile and your laugh could brighten my days always. I will miss your calls to check up on me. I will miss your tender love and care. I will forever love you. I found solace in your unwavering love. Even at your lowest all you would say is “Trudi I’m praying, and God will make a way”. I’m so happy we were able to be with you through it all and you knew that you have left a mark on all our lives. Rest in peace, my favorite Aunty you will be dearly missed, but your love and light will forever live on within us. It’s goodbye for now and I can’t wait to see you again❤️🌹

Aunt Joan was always about family; she always wanted us to stay together and support each other. I remember her always calling to check up and me and having long conversations with me that were also encouraging; these conversations will be greatly missed but the encouragement will lives on. Thank you aunt Joan for all that you have offered and we hope that we will make you proud by how we live or life from hereafter. May we live in such a way that will make us worthy of seeing you in glory when our times comes to leave this earth behind.

Our deepest condolences to Francene, Craig, Heather and Mr. Small. We pray that you will be comforted and strengthened during this very difficult time of loss. I believe Mrs. Small is now in a far more wonderful place filled with joy and peace, and has now joined a league of angels who will continue to watch over her family with love. I was grateful to have met Mrs. Small through Francene as we grew through high school life together at Andrews. I will always remember her as someone kind, warm, caring, a genuine listener and always welcoming to Francene's friends. These are good memories. May her beautiful soul rest in sweet peace.

The curtains have fallen and a gentle, calm, soothing voice is stilled forever on this side. Your work on Earth has ended Joan but the footprints you have left in the sands of time will never be erased. I greatly miss those cherished moments we've spent together. Your frequent inspiring talks were always anticipated. I am sure your memories will live on in the heart of all those you have touched. Precious Memories.

My heart is saddened at your passing. It’s been a long time since we communicated - my first cousin. I remember the good times we enjoyed together. One such good time was my wedding, you were my maid of honor. However, The Lord knowing how you have lived for Him, as it were, tapped you on your shoulder and said "Come on home my daughter " I find comfort in the fact that I will see you again, in that sweet bye and bye where we’ll live to die no more. Granville, please accept my heartfelt condolences on behalf of Orville and myself. "We cannot Lord Thy purpose see but all is well that’s done by Thee."

I've often times read the message on the back of funeral programs that'd say something along the line of God taking the best and it wasn't until your passing that I understood and felt those words. I'm truly happy that I got the chance to see you almost everyday while you were at Hope Institute and even the very day of your passing. I miss you so so much. Your work here has ended and I'm pretty sure it was a job well done, from being a great wife, mother, aunt, cousin and also friend. Aunty Joan was my closest aunt as we lived closer than the others and would visit each others home quite often but in the latter days phone calls would suffice. I miss you Aunty Joan. I will always remember you for being a Godly woman, a great aunt and an awesome friend. Love ❤️

The bond you share with my mother was strong. Aunty Joan was a name mentioned in my household oh so often. May your memories lives on in everyone that came into contact with you. I am truly appreciate of the time you took while sick to help me prepare for my mom’s funeral. I know you are resting in peace, until next time Aunty Joan, Rest well.

Aunty Joan, you loved your family and your family loved you very much, both nuclear and extended but most of all, you loved the Lord in worship and in actions. You are the one who requested that the family group be created, so as to bring the family together from all over the world. You loved your friends also and they too saw that you were a gem 💎. Though we had the blessed opportunity to have gathered at your bedside and journeyed with you until the end, it was still a tough one to say goodbye, even though we will meet again in a different form and that glorious place. I am truly privileged to have had you as my aunty 🤗, we all are truly privileged to have had you as Family and friend. We love you aunty and you will always be remembered forever in our hearts. Until we meet again, walk good.
